'Shaped in Armour and Oak'
This work that I produced in 2010 took inspiration from the Dylan Thomas poem 'O Make Me a Mask'. I looked into armour from throughout history, particularily japanese armour. I wanted to capture the protective and aggressive nature of armour as well as the movement involved with wearing it. I used Welsh oak for its amazing golden colour and also to honour the DylanThomas poem.
